A Situation Update: Surgery Soon

Yep, the date is set. 😅 [🖼❗]
When I first started this blog, I never thought I’d be saying (or typing) these words: I’m going for surgery!

Luckily it’s not a major health issue; I have a few fibroids and an ovarian cyst in my womb (all benign), something most women have at some point of their lives. However, mine has grown pretty big (imagine walking around with a tennis ball and a couple of golf balls in your abdomen 😱), so after 7 months of traditional Chinese medicine, it’s time for surgery. The gynaecologist doing my surgery is quite experienced (I can see his calendar is full of these kind of operation), so I’m sure I’m in good hands. 🙂

My surgery is scheduled for less than 48 hours from this post (to save you the trouble of calculating time zone differences 😆). It’s going to be my first time staying at a hospital overnight and having an operation, but based on some reading online, I expect I’ll be mostly sleeping for a couple of days after. 😅

In the meantime, I’ve scheduled a couple of video posts that I hope you’ll enjoy. 😀

I’ll post an update as soon I’m alert and have the energy to do so. Wish me luck!

~Nicolle ❤

A Self-Compassionate Letter

Dear Self,

It’s great that you’re optimistic about this surgery! Good luck. ❤

      1. Well, technically we do have high health care costs too (especially when Malaysian Ringgit is 1/4 of a US Dollar 😅), though I’ve heard it’s not as high as in the US. I’m lucky my husband’s health insurance covers most of it. 😀

      2. Ooh wow! I feel fortunate 😨. Everything is free here in Canada, but we pay high taxes. But quality of life is still great. But great to hear you had coverage, that’s a relief! Malaysia sounds great, I’ll have to go there one day, I know the food is amazing.

      3. Sounds like Canada is a great place to be! And I hope you do visit Malaysia, the food is certainly great. 🍛🍜🍚
(And I dare you to try durian! Hey, I’ve had a few foreigner colleagues who love them, so you might too. 😆)

  2. Sending prayers your way. You’ll be fine cause I’m leaving you in God’s hands. 😀 😀
We’ll miss you!! ❤ ❤ Just make sure you recover well after the successful (IJMN) surgery. You're not permitted to do otherwise.

    1. Thanks very much, Jainey! I’m sure I’ll be fine and I’ll definitely make sure to recover well (I already had the first step done; clearing all of my work email and shutting down the darn work laptop, my inbox has never been so empty before!). 😆
      And yes, ma’am! [salutes]

    1. Thanks very much, Camilla! Good to hear you’re recovering, albeit in pain. I’ll certainly be fine, just out of action for a while. 😆
      Hope you’ll have a speedy recovery! ❤️
