Alert: A Collaboration to Thank You, Professions!

collaboration-thank-you-profession-791x528
A big cover picture this time! I put together this one too. 🖼

Yep, it’s that time of the month again! It’s really nice having a scheduled theme collaboration to post about. 😀

This time the theme is “Thank You, Profession!”, where we write a thank you or post something positive about a profession that has impacted our life or that we think deserves spotlight / praise! 🎊🎉🎈

Because why not? I’m sure most of us work for a living and have met at least one other person who works as well. (Unless you live on a deserted island and live a self-sustained life like Robinson Crusoe, then in that case I salute you. 😆) Even though this world seems to be negativity-filled, let’s add some positivity to it and sing some praises this collaboration!

COLLABORATION WITH A PURPOSE: THANK YOU
COMING SOON

How the Cover Picture Turned Out the Way It Did

As with the previous collaboration cover picture, I did this one so here’s my chance to blab about it! 😆

The general idea for this cover picture didn’t take long for me to come up with – I’ve seen a few photo collages before and I thought these would be perfect to cram as many profession pictures as I could! So I used Befunky’s Collage Maker (free web version) to create a collage of pictures from my favourite free picture site Pixabay, though because the free Collage Maker didn’t have a layout I liked, I used Snipping Tool (comes bundled with MS Windows) to snip some screenshots and edited them with my free picture editor, Paint.NET. 🎨

The editing part didn’t take long, since the Collage Maker already sized the pictures so nicely for me; the more time consuming part was searching for pictures of different professions! I look for those that I could tell what professions they are with a glance and those that don’t look too cluttered when shrunk to a smaller size. See if you could guess what the professions are. 😛

I also took a while to mull over the fonts; that’s usually the part I struggle with most. It was mostly solved when I asked Uncle Google – the few top search results on trophy and award fonts usually list Times New Roman as a popular font, so I decided to go with that. I also used Gabriola font (comes with my computer) for the “Collaboration with a Purpose” part, since I wanted something thin and cursive but not overly so. ✏

So yep, that’s my story. 😆

The Collaborators!

Here’s the list of bloggers taking part, in alphabetical order! We have 13 this month (what an interesting number for Halloween month! 👻), and I added little excerpts from their blogs that really caught my eye and will hopefully whet your interest enough to visit their blogs too. 😀

  • Addison D’Marko (“If you want to achieve complete happiness one of the things you are going to have to do is care less. By this I mean stop putting so much thought into the things that do not matter.”)
  • Barb Caffrey @ Barb Caffrey’s Blog (“So, if you believe in any sort of Higher Power, one of the things you need to remember is to forgive yourself once in a while.”)
  • Divyang Shah @ i think my way (“If someone don’t speak much, don’t interpret as a dumb, their mind must be working on something very big or may be he is a writer and observing surrounding on which he would come with some deep write-ups.”)
  • Ipuna Black (“None of us are perfect or come from perfect backgrounds, but this doesn’t mean we can’t aim for a positive and fulfilling life. The life we all deserve.”)
  • Jane Love @ Harmonious Joy (“People who have a genuine say and a true voice of their own… not just an echo of some celebrity they think they love.”)
  • Jothish Joseph @ TheJothishJosephBlog (“Anybody can write “Extra” before “ordinary” but only people of courage dare to earn it…”)
  • Mylene C. Orillo (“Where I’m at right now is a testament that ‘Dreams really do come true.'”)
  • Sadaf Siddiqi (“The best thing about memories, is one doesn’t realise they are making memories but once recorded, it just rewinds and takes one back to the beautiful series of life.”)
  • Sonyo Estavillo @ ‘Lil Pick Me Up (“I am here to champion anyone from the successful and confident folks, to those that are clinically depressed.”)
  • Tajwar Fatma @ LifeAsWeHaveNeverKnownIt (“When life hits you hard, hit back harder!”)
  • And of course myself, Nicolle K @ Stories of a Highly Sensitive Introvert! (“Success, for me, is when I spend my days feeling happy, peaceful, fulfilled and without fear of lack.”)

While waiting for the latest instalment, do head over to my Collaboration with a Purpose Index to see the other themes we’ve completed so far!

Hope you’ll look forward to reading our themed posts when they’re out. 😀

    1. I’m looking forward to this month’s collaboration too! Can’t wait. 😀

Haha, that would be really funny! I’m half hoping it would happen. 😛

(And thanks, I’m glad you loved the cover picture this round!)

    1. Thanks very much! I was a bit worried since I’m usually a one-hit-wonder when it comes to art (I’d do a great first picture but not-so-fantastic ones after), and I’m happy you thought it was a good job. 😀😀

    1. Thanks very much for the kind words! If you’d like to participate, would please contact the main organisers Tajwar Fatma via Facebook (link from her blog
https://lifeaswehaveneverknownit.wordpress.com/) or Ipuna Black via email (https://ipunablack.com)? Do let me know if you do, so that I can give them a heads up too. 😀

Our collaboration day is 5th of every month (haha, spoiler 😆) so I’m not sure if you can make it this round, though if you still want to try, let’s do our best and try! 😀
