Mid-Week Video Day: A Game Soundtrack for a Quiet Reflection

This sountrack is from the visual novel game Narcissu! (Yes, it doesn’t end with an S. πŸ˜†) This is one of my favourite soundtracks to listen to when I’m writing a quiet scene in a novel, often one of self-reflection; it’s such a simple piece, yet beautiful and touching. πŸ™‚

With a title like “Suppressed Lies” and a quiet tune, it makes me imagine of a quiet night where one has no company but the moon. It starts off slow but steady, like thoughts that keep on coming, lies that one keeps suppressed yet unconsciously believes. It pauses about two thirds in, and speeds up as though the suppressed lies are being shaken up, like another thought seeks to expose them for the lies they are. Then the music slows back down to a quiet ending, leaving us to wonder if the lies are being suppressed once more. πŸ™

Hope you enjoy it! I love gentle music like this.Β πŸ˜€
