Whee, I’ve been nominated by Ipuna Black for The Blue Sky Tag! Thanks, Ipuna! ❤️

A quick explanation; The Blue Sky Tag is where the participating blogger does the following in a blog post:

1. Thank the person who tagged you
2. Answer their 11 questions
3. Tag 11 people
4. Give them 11 questions to answer

Simple, eh? It’s kind of an icebreaker version of a (good) chain letter and the 20 questions game combined, which is pretty interesting. 😀

I tried to search for the originator of The Blue Sky Tag, but after tens of blogs and a whole lot of side-tracked reading, I gave up… that’s why it took me more than a couple of days to write. 😛

So, let’s start!

11 Questions for Me!

Here are my answers to Ipuna’s questions!

1.Where in the world are you?

Across the information highway! 😀

Okay, so maybe that doesn’t count as somewhere in the world. I live a little country in Southeast Asia, though I’ll leave it to you to guess the actual name of the country! (Hint: it’s the country that appears in global news for not-really-good reasons, think airplanes and assassinations.)

2. How many languages do you speak?

I can speak 2 + 0.5 + 0.1 languages:

• English, which I’m most familiar with and my preferred language in everything!
• Malay, what we’re forced to learn in school as it’s a national language so I’m not too bad at it.
• Cantonese, a Chinese dialect – while I’m.not fantastic, at least I can order chicken rice with it. 😀
•  I only can speak very basic Mandarin (the official Chinese dialect in China and Taiwan) if I wanted to, but aside from “I don’t know how to speak Mandarin” and standard phrases like “I want to go to the washroom”, my mind automatically default back to Cantonese when I try to speak Mandarin!

Oops, did I just reveal which country I’m from? 😛

3. What is your biggest goal for your blog?

More than anything, I want to reach out to people; I want to help others like me to get that “Aha!” moment when they realise they’re a highly sensitive person / introvert / etc. 🙂

4. What is your 5 year plan, if you have one?

5 years is a bit far, but one of my plans (that I hopefully finish in 2 years) is to completely rewrite my first original fantasy novel! I wrote it more than 10 years ago, with a writing style that absolutely make me cringe now and way more melodramatic / negative than I would like now, so I’d like to that everything that worked then and elevate it even further! Wish me luck! 😀

5. How would you define success?

Success, for me, is when I spend my days feeling happy, peaceful, fulfilled and without fear of lack. 😊

6. How do you keep yourself organised?

To-do lists, notes, calendars, folders and whatnot! I have an easily-distracted yet single-tracked mind (“Squirrel!” Syndrome, anyone?), so if I don’t write something down or do it immediately, 99% chance I’ll forget about it. 😛

7. What’s your favorite dessert?

Aw, do I really need to pick only one? What the heck, I’ll just list them all!

I love cakes, especially tiramisu; I love ice cream, especially cookies n’ cream / Oreo flavour; and I love tong shui in general. Darn, now I want something sweet! 🍮🍦🍨🍡🍫🎂🍰

8. What are you afraid of?

Being alone without someone I know and depend on. I still don’t like doing things alone, even running errands, though I’m better this year than the last (I’m alone at a coffee shop typing at this moment!); I think this stems from my low self-esteem, and also because I’m not exactly very street-smart (if you were to dump me in the middle of an unknown city, well…). Or maybe it’s just more fun to bring my husband along. ❤️

9a. What are you absolutely bad at?

Remembering, comparing and calculating numbers! Take grocery item prices, for example; I can’t remember how much they should be valued at and whether or not the item I’m looking at is considered cheap or expensive. On the flip side, if you give me a, say, phone number to memorise, after a good 5 second stare, I could remember the whole number for the next ten minutes! That is, until I get distracted with something else and it’s flushed from my short term memory. 😆

9b. What are you the best at?

Now this is a problem, because I’m a jack of all trades and a master of none! I can write, draw pictures, play the piano, program codes, organise data on a spreadsheet, play video games… all somewhat well, but not super well. 😆

10. Which fictional character would you be best friends with?

Nina from the game Breath of Fire III! Kind, graceful, fearless yet reckless, isn’t proud as a princess but understands the responsibilities of being one. While she has her shortcomings (she goes through a phase of rebelliousness against her super strict and rigid mother, the queen), she’s my favourite heroine!

11. Can you name your top ten favorite blogs (or what types of blogs do you like)?

Wow, I read a lot (including many non-WP blogs), so it’s impossible for me to list my top 10 favourites! I’ll compensate with my kind of blogs; I like to read other people’s stories and experiences, advice columns, articles on personalities, creative writing tips (especially for fantasy), crystals and energy, energy healing (i.e. Reiki), spirituality (i.e. reincarnation, soul plan), etc… and the list doesn’t even include non-blog stuff like the hundreds of manga (Japanese comic) I’ve read. Yep, I read a lot. 😆

Random Tidbits of Info

For those of you who like random info, here’s one! Once in a while I take notice of repeating number combinations in my usual daily life and I look them up online. Since we have 11 questions for me, 11 questions for you and 11 nominations, so here’s the meaning of angel number 11!

And to close this, here’s a random game soundtrack recommendation – “I Look Up at the Sky Because You are There”, the main theme of Wild Arms: 4th Detonator; an aptly name song for this post today! It’s in Japanese, but here’s the English translation of the lyrics if you’re interested. 😀
